Whitebox Playtest Feedback (Ashley)
For the whiteboxing portion of Orphy's Quests, I did the white boxing for the village houses and the inside layout. For now, the insides are all the same, however, once the assets are added in, the inside layout of each house will vary depending on its occupants. A lot of people mentioned the area between the houses is too large and suggested adding more things in between to decrease the space. In my design for the house layout, I included drawings of an outhouse and stable. Though not included, some houses will have a garden. I believe adding those (along with rescaling) should be able to make it feel less spacey. Others suggested adding a terrain with mountains and hills rather than having everything on a flat plane. As the person in charge of the art assets, I agree with this because it does look a little boring with no natural formations. Personally, I don't like the lighting as I find it too bright so I will try to find a way to dim it down or give it a more realistic/natural look.
